Senior Golf - You're Never Too Old To Play This Wonderful Game
Author: Jim P Martin
Playing senior golf may mean that you lose distance with your tee shots and long irons. As you continue to play, you should make adjustment for age. If you have been playing regularly,you may have already adjusted your fitness and your clubs, other equipment etc.
Golf is one of the most popular recreational games an older person can play without doing any harm to himself or herself. You may need further instruction or tips on how to maintain that distance that every golfer wants.
If you have been playing senior golf on a regular basis, you may have already adjusted your fitness, your clubs and other equipment. You don't have to stop playing golf as you enter your salad days. Golf in your latter years can be very beneficial; you are out in the fresh air getting exercise, keeping your mind active, and don't forget the social aspect of meeting new people.
You may want to consider changing your golf clubs. As you mature in years, your swing will, naturally, get slower. To compensate for this you can get yourself some golf clubs with a different shaft flex. Generally, there are five ratings used for shaft flexes, they are;
- Extra stiff
- Stiff
- Regular
- Senior
- Ladies
If you do decide to invest in some new clubs, and I cannot emphasise this enough, for senior golf players, please - please - please - have your clubs custom fitted. Most suppliers, high street stores or club pros, will offer this service for free, so take advantage.
They will measure the length of shaft (this is taken from the distance between your wrist and the ground), then by assessing your stance they can determine the correct loft and lie angles of the club head, thus you end up with the perfect set of seniors golf clubs which are unique to you.
Enjoy your golf.
